Engineering Leadership and Infrastructure Vision Converge at ACEC Houston

Last week, Gedeon GRC’s executive team—President & CEO Rudolf Gedeon, COO Nelly Gedeon, and Vice President of Structural Engineering & Business Development Dietrich Bankhead—joined industry peers at the ACEC Houston chapter meeting for an insightful discussion on the future of public infrastructure.

The event featured a keynote by Oluwole A. McFoy, City Engineer and Interim Director of Water at Houston Public Works, who shared updates on departmental progress, strategic plans, and innovations since stepping into the role earlier this year. With over 25 years of experience in infrastructure leadership, Mr. McFoy’s remarks underscored the importance of data-driven approaches and long-term investment in water systems—especially as Houston navigates over $12 billion in active construction projects.

Prior to the meeting, attendees also heard from Houston Mayor John Whitmire, who addressed the ACEC Houston Government Affairs Committee, offering perspective on the city’s infrastructure priorities and collaboration with engineering leaders.

Events like these are a powerful reminder of how public and private sector leaders can come together to shape resilient, future-ready communities. Gedeon GRC remains engaged in these conversations, committed to advancing sustainable engineering solutions through collaboration and innovation.
